AWESOME hotel A review of ALOFT SILICON VALLEY

I have stayed at this hotel quite a few times, the most recent being a couple of weekends ago, and I love it every time. Probably one of the most important things for me, as goes for most of us it seems, is cleanliness, and this hotel exceeds in this area. I stay in lots of hotels, most of them being Starwood properties, and the W Newark is one of the most consistantally clean hotels I have encountered. You know how in some hotels when you're walking around, especially in the bathrooms and rooms, you just kindof feel dirty and dont want to look to closley at anything in fear of being discusted? Well, at this hotel it's exactally the opposite. Every time I come here I am inpressed at how clean the hotel and rooms are, even over the couple of years I have been comming here. The rooms are spotless and always cleaned throughlly, right down to the 'combing' of the suede on the chairs. The rooms are very large and comfortable. The include a sitting area, desk, granite wet bar w/ fridge and plates, a bed area, a closet area, and the bathroom. The bathrooms are very spacous with a bath and seperate shower and AVEDA products. There is also a large TV with VCR. The furnishings are very attractive and VERY comfortable. This is a somewhat different W in that it is in a suburban area, as the price, and room size, show! The rates here, especially on weekends, are VERY good, often under $100, which is over $100 less that if you were to stay in the city (SF), even at the SF W, which runs MUCH higher, not to mention parking which tends to run about $40 a night. It's free at the W Newark. The downside is the smallish, somethat unimpressive lobby and limited restaurant and room service choices. The staff has always been extremely helpful and welcoming. My advice is, if you want to visit SF, don't want to spent a fortune, but want lux accommadations, stay here!

Ride the BART into SF, which costs about $5 each way and is kindof fun, and is very safe. Believe me, I am the first one to be scared of public transportation! Accually the BART is the only public trans I feel safe in, and NYC subways. If you are in the area on business, STAY HERE! You won't be dissapointed!
