Avoid at All Costs A review of Sheraton Pasadena

This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. I booked a room at the Sheraton Pasadena from July 28-30, 2003. The room I got was disgusting and sickening. Apparently, the management at the hotel doesn't care about cleanliness. I found a pubic hair in my nightstand drawer, a hair in my bed, and a hair in my wash cloth. There were food wrappers underneath my bed. Many of the sheets had black streaks on them and the desk drawer had miscellaneous items left over from a previous guest.

Also, the ice machines didn't work most of the time. And to make things worse, the vending machine area was often overflowing with trash and used trays from people who had ordered room service.I complained to one of the managers, but he refused to give me any sort of discount or break on the price of the hotel room. This is despite the fact that there is a large sign behind the front-desk which states the Sheraton guarantee in large letters. Supposedly, if you are not 100% satisfied, Sheraton will give you a discount, rewards, or even cash back. However, the manager would not give me any of these. He made up some BS about how I was part of a group transaction. Although I was staying at the hotel to take the California Bar Exam, I did not reserve a room as part of a group. However, the manager said there was nothing he could do for me even though the room was filthy.The next day I talked to a manager who finally agreed to do something for me. He agreed that the first manager I spoke to was wrong about the group transaction exception.

However, I first had to convince him that the room was really that filthy. He spoke to me in a condescending manner and tried to make it sound impossible that their hotel could ever be that dirty. Again, this manager would not give me a discount or a price break. However, he finally agreed to waive the parking charge. Do you believe that the hotel charges $7.00 a day for parking in a public garage!? They don't even have their own parking. Anyways, I figured that this was better than nothing and left thinking that I had at least gotten some compensation for my miserable stay. Afterwards, I checked out and hoped I would never have to deal with them again.Now, it's September 27th.

I'm looking at my credit card bill and I found that I was charged $21.00 by the Sheraton Pasadena on August 27th, a full month after I stayed there! They are now charging me again for the parking that they had already agreed to waive! This really irks me. I had to complain repeatedly just to get a $21.00 concession and now they try to sneak it back in by charging me a month later. I've never been treated so poorly by any hotel in my life. If you think I have a grudge against this hotel, then by all means you are right. Please, I hope no one decides to stay there after readings.
