Average Stay, Better Places In Seattle A review of Pan Pacific Seattle
My husband, two kids (3 and 6) stayed at the Pan Pacific while visiting family. The hotel just opened in November of '06 and while it was new and not crowded, it lacked warmth or personality. The rooms are nice and clean, but nothing out of the ordinary. We were able to secure a half rate for the grand opening, and I wouldn't have paid any more for what they were offering.
The hotel positions itself against other luxury hotels like the Four Seasons, but lacks the level of service, attention to detail and general sense of catering that other luxury hotels do. For instance, whenever we stay at the Four Seasons, they remember our names, say hello to the kids and are as helpful as they can be. At the Pan Pacific, they were nice enough but weren't very helpful when asked about dining or sightseeing options. They talk about a person being assigned to you when you stay there, but there was no such thing.
Also, we had a door fall off our armoir, and they said they'd be up in 15 minutes to fix it, but it took over an hour and one phone call later.
The location isn't great, but they are rebuilding that area of Seattle and it will be really nice when it's all finished. There's no restaurant, but there's a Whole Foods downstairs that has tons of prepared foods that are wonderful.
After staying in Seattle many times, I would say the Pan Pacific is OK, but there are many nicer, less expensive places in better locations.
