Average Room, Great food! A review of Sheraton Austin at the Capitol
I liked this hotel. A definite step-up from the Doubletree Suites. The bed was comfortable, but the walls were too thin. I scheduled a wake-up call at 6:30, but heard the alarm go off at 5:30. It was so loud that I thought it was mine, but after unplugging it, found out it was my neighbor's and it went on for over an hour. Nice!!! My cold water faucet valve on the sink didn't work, so drinking hot water was a pleasure...not! I later complained about this at the desk, but got nowhere. Next time, I'll ask for the manager and demand a credit. The one thing I liked was the food. I ate at the Rojo Red and loved it. At least, Marriott knows how to hire a decent chef. Oh, and parking is $11 bucks. I overpaid for the hotel at a $180 rate. Next time I'll stay at the new new Hampton or right on sixth street.
