Average hotel, bargain for Orlando area A review of Embassy Suites Hotel Orlando - North
We stayed here in April 2005 while visiting friends in Orlando. The hotel is 20-30 minutes from downtown (depending on traffic) and is located just off I-4 in Altamonte Springs. Accomodations were consistent with an average Embassy Suites hotel. Like most hotels in this chain, the majority of rooms face an inner courtyard with attractive tropical landscaping, streams, and a gazebo. Our room was located in the "Palm Building," which was quiet but remote from the rest of the hotel. The beds were brand new and very firm; the bathroom was simply average with a scuffed and dirty floor and some mold visible around the tub. Oddly, we didn't receive a newspaper outside our door (although two of our neighbors did) for either of the two mornings we were there. Breakfast was standard for this chain, plentiful and convenient but not stellar. The hotel is located on a lake that has a pleasant walking path and is adjacent to Altamonte Drive, which has a variety of chain restaurants, grocery stores, bookstores, etc. We would stay here again if we had business in the northern Orlando area but would otherwise choose to stay closer to downtown/the airport/convention center/theme parks since this hotel is less convenient for those areas.
