Are you kidding me? A review of The Lodge At Vail, A Rockresort

We stayed four nights in Jan, 2004. We checked in to our "luxury" King room and have never been so disappointed. It was a Motel room right on the parking lot, not connected to the hotel but an outside corridor to the front of the hotel. It was a nightmare. We had to walk over the bed to get to the small closet and very dated bathroom. We had the cars coming and going and the garbage trucks outside at 7AM. I am a Peaks member and am to get an upgrade at check in, but never thought a four star $400.00 per night hotel could ever have a room this bad. We travel to Vail a lot, and have stayed here 3 times before, which made it all the more shoking, as I am aware that some of the rooms are a bit small, at least they were updated and had a sense of luxury. This was such a let down, I doubt I would stay again. I must say that breakfast was the highlight of the trip, but we were glad to leave the hotel.
