Anything but a good night A review of Good Nite Inn - Salinas
I stayed at the Good Nite Inn during the Steinbeck Festival. Upon arriving, it took almost an hour to get checked in. They only had one girl working the front desk on a weekend. Some guests were actually returning their keys and did not want to stay because their rooms had not been prepared for new guests, and had waited for maid service that did not come. The room was alright, but the bathroom smelled awful, and there were no towels in the bathroom. We requested some towels, they never came, so when we went to the office to ask for some. We were given one and told that was all they had. My boyfriend and I did not feel comfortable leaving our belongings in the room while we went to Monterey to explore, so we took our stuff with us. When we returned that night, our keys wouldn't work on the door, the staff had checked us out. They checked us into another room, and gave us a discount on one of our two night stays, but I definitely would never return to the Good Nite Inn.
