Another Relaxing Stay - Improved Restaurant Area A review of Westchester Marriott
We just returned from a weekend at the Westchester Marriott in Tarrytown, NY. We go there once a year for my husband's dental convention. He attends all the convention floor exhibits and classes and the children and i soak in the pool and hang around the hotel. We have been going there for about 15 years for this convention and have seen some improvements this year in the hotel restaurant area. The room we had on the 7th floor was clean and comfortable, with everything in working order. My only comment was we could have used a few extra towels because we were 4 people taking showers and one towel each is just not enough. If i would have called down, i am sure they would have brought up afew more, but my kids had to get to bed. The pool area is the same. Its maintained very nicely, pool is crystal clear. hot tub was HOT, this area could be spruced up a bit but its still a nice area. the lobby area is still the same, clean, well kept etc. everyone was accommodating to us and staff always smiled and said hi. there used to be a restaurant called ALLIES which was okay. Now they opened up that area so you feel you are eating al fresco, with HUGE flower pots to partially block the view of the people passing in the hall. We had breakfast buffet there and it was good. Adults $14.95 and Kids $4.95. Dinner prices were steep and everything was ala carte There is also Ruth Chris steak house, but with young children, thats not a good choice to eat. We usually go to TGI Fridays 2 minutes up the road and thats always delicious. This hotel is nice for a weekend away. Close to NYC, the pool can really revive you and the kids! It would be nice to take the family for the weekend to swim and relax. Room prices weren't too bad. We paid $124.00 per night for the 4 of us with 2 double beds and a decent room. Its worth the thought, take a ride there and enjoy your stay!
