An undiscovered (as yet) jewel A review of Eurostars David
The Hotel David is a truly four/five star hotel about five minutes walk from the centre of prague and its many, many attractions. Tucked away from most of the noise of the city it offers excellent quality accommodation in good sized rooms with all facilities. The breakfast buffet is one of the best I have experienced. I slept well, the shower is powerful and I felt safe and secure the whole time. The rooms were cleaned immaculately.
As always, the thing that makes a difference is the quality of staff. The Hotel David scores very highly here with some of the friendliest, most informed and supportive receptionists I have encountered. They recommended routes, tours and restaurants which were all very good. They went out of their way to ensure we were well looked after and always checked afterwards that things had been satisfactory.
Two minor moans. A coffee/tea tray in the room would have been nice and at least one English news channel (other than CNBC) would have been useful.
Above all this. It is very, very reasonably priced. It has only been open a few months and they are trying to build up custom. In time this will be much more expensive but at the moment it represents excellent value for money.
A couple of tips. Firstly, great restaurant around the corner pretends to be a medieval czeck restaurant but is good fun, good food and very cheap. Prague Zoo is amazing. Huge number of animals all very well looked after. Tour to Czezky Cumlove is good but its a very, very long way in a rickety minibus so you have to really want to go and need to have a strong bottom.
If you are going to Prague this Hotel, and the Arcadia Residence are the places to stay.
