An OK hotel, but great for the price A review of Wyndham Garden Providence
If I had paid $179 for a room at this hotel, I'd be writing a pretty dismal review as well. But fortunately, I paid $85/75/75 (including all taxes and fees, through priceline.com) for the three nights I've stayed there. I've heard that a bid of $55 (~$65 with taxes and Priceline fee) will get you a room here on most nights.
The rooms are decent, clean, and comfortable. The location is rather odd - some of the rooms seem to almost hang over the highway - but convenient - a very quick 5-10 minute drive to the center of Providence. Another plus is that parking is free (unlike $16/night at the Biltmore or $20/night at the Westin).
I have no idea about any of the hotel's amenities, since I haven't ever tried out room service or the hotel dining room. Check-in/-out has always been quick and uncomplicated. If you're looking for an inexpensive place to stay in downtown Providence and aren't expecting anything in the way of frills or luxuries, this is a pretty good choice.
