An Oasis A review of Red Cliffs Lodge
The cabin-like room was modern and beautifully appointed, clean and quiet. The setting is exquisite and very serene; we stayed two nights during May. There is an excellent restaurant on the premises that serves gourmet meals at reasonable prices. We were able to make a second meal of the leftovers, using the kitchenette in the room (no stovetop or oven but quite adequate). The continental breakfast was extraordinary, included farm-raised boiled eggs, delightful fruit salad as well as choices of cereals and customary fare. Diners may opt to sit on the spacious balcony overlooking the Colorado River. There is a museum of posters and memorabilia from the myriad of films shot in the area located in the basement of the main building. The water in the large outdoor pool was thought by my travel companions to be too cold.
It provided definite refreshment from the high air temperature.
