An incredible find! A review of Hotel Avante
Any time I travel to the Silicon Valley, be it for business or pleasure, I try my darndest to stay at the Hotel Avante. A renovated hotel, the Avante is unimpressive from outside, but once you step inside, prepare to be wowed. The hotel opened after undergoing a total renovation, and the decorating style is chic Silicon Valley style, based on 1950s constructionist from Eastern Europe, a comtemporary/modern style which fits well with the tech heads in the valley. The rooms are equipped with egyptian cotton sheets, down comforters, and all the amenities of the rooms business travellers hope to find. They also have the coolest sinks in the bathrooms I've ever seen.If you join their rewards club, you'll get a bottle of water and snack in your room when you check in, along with a personal handwritten note from the hotel manager. The room comes equipped with everything you need to get work done, but also an etch-o-sketch, slinky, rubiks cube and other toys to either get your creative juices flowing, or to get your mind off work. They have a complimentary wine hour (and also have Tide House beer on tap) every day, and the staff is very friendly and eager to help. They offer continental breakfast in the morning, (including a yummy homemade banana bread) and are thoughtful of the guest who may currently be on the Atkins diet and looking for low-carb high protein alternatives to the normal continental breakfast fare. This is definitely one hotel where the guest is first, and they will do whatever possible to make your stay away from home as comfortable as possible.
