An Excellent Long Weekend at the Four Seasons, Miami A review of Four Seasons Hotel Miami
I just returned from a 3 night stay at the Four Seasons, Miami. It was spectactular. I went with a group of friends for a winter get-away. We had looked into staying at the Delano or Shore Club in South Beach, but the most reasonable rooms at those places were booked. We are all women in our mid-thirties who were just looking to relax by a pool at a nice hotel for the weekend, so we really weren't committed to South Beach anyway.
Our weekend was perfect from start to finish (helped along, no doubt, by perfect weather). We had booked two city view rooms, but got rooms that overlooked Biscayne Bay. Consistent with other Four Seasons at which I have stayed, the rooms were impeccable with extremely comfortable beds and huge marble bathrooms.
The pool bar, Bahia, was very busy on Friday night; somewhat less so on Saturday. The pool(s) are amazing and the service was great: extremely attentive and accomodating. Every staff member calls you by name which is a really nice touch and helps makes the not-cheap prices very bearable. On Saturday, it was packed and those who arrived after 12:30-1:00 had difficulty getting lounge chairs (though the staff brought in extra chairs and madesure that everyone had one). There was a wedding at the hotel that evening, however, so I think there were a lot of guests. By Sunday afternoon, the premises were virtually deserted. I got the sense that it is very much a business travel hotel during the week with more non-business travelers on the weekends.
South Beach is about 20 minutes away by cab. As other reviewers have noted, there is not much around the Four Seasons as it is in the heart of Miami's financial district. Thus, if your desire is to be in the midst of a lot of action, then South Beach may be a better option. If you want a relaxing weekend at a beautiful hotel with amazing service, FS Miami fits the bill perfectly.
