Amazing renovation and incredible cuisine A review of Hotel Fauchere
I have not seen a better renovation of a hotel since I renovated Inn on the Blue Horizon in Vieques, PR. It takes a lot to impress me and I am, very much.
The owners and designers have kept the integrity of the old hotel while updating it to fit today's boutique hotel travelers. It rivals all of the Schrager properties and keeps up with 'W'. But the charm of the staff, the rooms, the property can compare to none.
The food is well deserved for the hotel and the warm community it serves. The chef, Michael Glatz is an award-winning chef who has been celebrated in all of the travel, fashion and food magazines. I was fortunate enough to have had him work for me for nine years and was totally delighted to find him settled here in Milford, Pennsylvania. His food is innovative, well-presented and delicious. His attention to detail is excellent and modern. The stylish presence of the Delmonico Room for dining is a beautiful palate for the food served there.
His Sushi Pizza in the Bar Louis is one of his signature creations and it is worth the drive alone just to sample this delight. And the art in the bar will treat your eyes. Be sure to look for the Christpoher Makos photograph of Andy Warhol giving John Lennon an peck on the cheek. Totally sophisticated.
The price is right and in line with other local restaurants although light years in advance of anything Milford has seen to date. For a great night's sleep this is the place to go. The mattresses are better than at home and dressed in Frette.
The combination of the food, the rooms and the town should make everyone drop what they are doing and go imediately. But call first...they are booked in advance for rooms and restaurant. When you go you'll understand why.
