We stayed for two nights in April 2005. Location is convenient to University of Manchester, but is a lengthy walk to the city center. Room was small but clean, and bathroom is tiny. You get what you pay for. Service at times is nonexistent (often only one person behind desk who is responsible for phones, people checking in and out and concierge duties) and bathroom has flimsy towels and does not offer shampoo or conditioner (stall only has a pump with lotion that is labeled as dual purpose shower gel/shampoo). Value is acceptable at about 50 GBP, although we were charged (without notification) 2 more GBP than we were quoted in our reservation made directly with the hotel over the Internet. Hotel, however, is within walking distance from the train station which connects conveniently to the Manchester airport.
