Absolutely Great Time A review of Pelican Inn & Suites
I took my girlfriend to the Pelican Suites in Cambria for a couple days for our 1 year anniversary. It's a great hotel and a great town. The Pelican is across the street from the pacific ocean. The room was just beautiful. We had a four post bed, sunken living room with a fireplace and balcony. We also had a fridge and microwave. It's almost hard to leave the room! The Pelican offers the following complimentary items...breakfast (eggs, sausage, fruit, coffee, bagels, juice), afternoon tea and wine session with at least 4 types of white wine, 4 types of red wine and 3 types of cheeses, and evening desert with cheesecakes, pastries and cookies. You don't even need to eat out. You also get robes and a VCR in your room and they have a video library for movies. The staff were also wonderful. In fact, most of the people in Cambria were very friendly. It must be the fresh sea air. The town of Cambria is very nice. Little shops and restaurants line the streets of East and West Village. It's a very quaint and romantic setting, especially if you come from a mega-metropolis like LA.
We went on a drive up the coast for about 10miles past Cambria to go see some Elephant Seals. That was a great experience. It's the male molting seasing during Jun and July. Actually, across the street from the Pelican, down on the beach, there were female seals on the rocks. We actually got within 10feet of a couple, but respected their space and just took pictures. There's a boardwalk on Moonstone Beach and every so often squirrels would pop up and say hello. Don't get freaked out, they're pretty friendly.
Overall, we had a great time. I don't know how much better it could have gotten. Nice hotel, nice town and GREAT company (love you EAE)!
