A+, would stay again A review of Renaissance Boca Raton Hotel
If you are looking for a smaller, botique style hotel that does not cater to noisy families with children, this is the place. I traveled alone (2/7-2/11/ 04) to visit someone in area and preferred a hotel where I felt safe and comfortable travelling solo and catered to business/adult clientele rather than casual tourists. Staff was extremely friendly and polite. Room was tastefully decorated, quiet and clean. I arrived 3 hours ahead of check in time and staff apologized as I had to wait an hour! The hour was spent dining poolside! The room had a lovely view overlooking pool/courtyard area with-just like a small oasis. Pool area was pleasantly landscaped-gliders, hammocks, all lounge chairs are cushioned and plenty of tables/umbrellas and towels.
As this hotel caters more to business clientele, the opool area was very quiet on weekdays. There are frequent planes overhead but could not hear them in my room. Poolside bar had a reasonably priced menu with some healthy, varied choices. On weekdays, there is coffee, quick bread in lobby. Work out room has large screen TV, several treadmills and some other equipment. Clean, small quiet beach with pleasant walking paths is only a short drive away. Shopping area with small botique style stores, Starbucks, a bakery (higly recommend), deli and a few restaurants just a minute walk from hotel. Large shopping mall (and Cheesecake Factory) is a 5-10 minute walk away. Down the road from the hotel heading towards I 95 is a strip mall with wonderful, large natural food grocery store and a Barnes and Nobles. Hotel is short drive to I 95. I drove into West Palm several times-only took under 1/2 hour during non rush hour. During rush hour take US1, not I 95 and allow more than 1 hour travel time if flying out of West Palm airport during weekday-there are always accidents on I 95. If this is the type of hotel you prefer-I highly recommend!!!!
