A welcome landing place A review of Hampton Inn Charlottesville
It was thanks to Trip Advisor that I found this place, so I wanted to thank others for their comments.
I came for 3 days to see the VA plantations, and this was a great place to stay- clean, quiet and convenient (although I had to make a u-turn heading south to turn onto India Rd, because I missed the shopping center entrance - they can talk you in if you call).
The staff at the desk and the 'breakfast ladies' were very nice. There's shopping stores and restaurants all around, and a Giant food store in the shopping center just below the hotel that you can walk to to get provisions of any kind. And it is just above the beltway around Charlottesville. It took me ~20 minutes the next morning to get to Monticello.
My only other recommendation is to stop by Barboursville Vineyards, which is ~1/2 hour north of there, off Rt 20 between Charlottesville and the lovely Montpelier- James Madison's estate. It's a lovely place, and they have some very nice varietals.
