A one of kind experience A review of Pink Sands
I have been to the Pink Sands twice- in Nov. 2001, and then again in May, 2002. On the second trip, we brought 60 people with us and got married on the deck of the Blue Bar overlooking the ocean. We had the time of our lives, and we couldn't have chosen a better place. Both visits to the Pink Sands we're wonderful. The setting is remarkable (yes, the sand is pink!), the cottages are well-appointed and private, and tooling around Harbour Island in a golf cart is a delight. If you're looking for a Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton experience, this isn't it. The Pink Sands is much lower-key, much more intimate, and not as sophisticated as you might expect from a 5-star hotel. There's no spa, the service is somewhat inconsistent, and there's not much in the way of entertainment. That being said, if you're looking for a beautiful Caribbean resort that's off the beaten path, you'll find great food, great accomodations, and a GREAT beach on a lovely island. The price is high, but it's fair and it's worth it.
