A nice place to stay A review of Maui Coast Hotel
Just got back from 10 nights at the maui coast hotel in Kihei Maui. Overall a nice place to stay, the price is equal to a condo in the same area, so if your more the hotel type, and like a front desk to ask questions or pool side entertainment this might be good place to stay. This is by no means a posh resort, so if your intrested in a place with a view (Maui Coast has none), nice waterfalls on the inside of hotel, and a wonderful pool, look eles where but keep in mind they will be atleast 200 more a night.
The rooms are fine, reminded me of Hoilday Inn type rooms, staff is friendly, and a big plus is they have a computer in the lobby for guest to check email at no charge. All local calls are 1.00, but the hotel has pay phones in lobby. The reasturant localted in the same parking lot called jamison's is ok, but too expensive for what you get, dinner will set you back 60 + easy.
If this is your first time to maui,i wouldnt suggest staying in this area unless you want to put miles on the rent car and spend lots of time in the car. Lahaina where most of the luaus and nice resturants and shoping are, is 25 miles away on mostly one lane road, so expect 30 to 45 min ride. Bottom line here is, if your ok with a good but not fabulous place to stay, the price is right and very good beaches near by this might be ok for you, If it matters you have a nice ocean view, a romantic hotel with all the extras, keep looking abd get out your wallet.
