A Little out of the Way but worthwhile A review of Marriott Mystic Hotel and Spa
We just returned from a one night stay at the "Mystic Marriott." This is a misnomer, as the hotel is not located in Mystic and is two exits on Route 95 (about 10 minutes) from the Mystic Village, Aquarium and the majority of the attractions in the Seaport area. I expected a better location as this is the most expensive hotel in the area. The hotel is immaculate and the staff was very friendly. The pool was very nice and luckily for us and our children, they did not enforce the 6pm-7pm "adult only" swim hour. The buffet breakfast at Octagon was fabulous and the food was fresh and plentiful. Do take advantage of the special rate that includes breakfast if possible. There is a Starbucks right in the lobby which is great for a quick cup of coffee or a snack.
Parking is convenient and free. The only negative noted was that when we were going to our room at 5:00 pm, trays with half eaten breakfast were still out in the floor of the hallway and it took several calls to have them removed. Another tip, we had a fabulous dinner at Go Fish in the Seaport Village. Food was excellent and the staff was friendly and professional.
