A Great time at the Steelers Game and hotel was Excellent A review of SpringHill Suites North Shore
My husband and I had tickets to attend a preseason NFL game (Steelers vs. Eagles) and chose the SpringHill Suites North Shore to stay the night. Heinz Field was so close you could see it from the hotel and within walking distance (approx. 15 minutes casually strolling). The check-in went smoothly and the lobby was clean and very attractive. Our suite was on the second floor and the room was very large. We had a sitting area with a couch, desk, chairs, and coffee table. One area was a wet-bar complete with microwave, fridge, and coffee-maker. The bedroom was large with a king-sized bed and mounds of pillows. The bed itself was comfy but the sheets were a tad scratchy. The bathroom had a separate vanity area and the shower/tub was very relaxing. The only problem we had that night was the loud sports bar across the street with hip-hop music blaring until approx. 2 am...so if you are not a night owl you'll need to request a room facing the parking lot and Heinz Field.
We were quite impressed with the continental breakfast. Lots of hot food including scrambled eggs and sausage. There was also a make-your-own waffle station. We had a hearty breakfast and it was much better than the usual 'continental' fare.
There were plenty of eateries around the hotel as well including an Outback Steak House right around the corner. The hotel itself was easy to find and their parking was a straight $15 but allowed you to come and go as you pleased.
If you're attending a ballgame (PNC Park or Heinz Field), this is definitely the place to stay because it's a stone's throw from both and very reasonably priced ($125) considering you're so close to downtown Pittsburgh. We had a great time and will definitely book another room there when we go back. GO STEELERS!!!
