A Great hotel with easy access A review of OREA Hotel Pyramida
This hotel was great as the other good reviews suggest it offers easy access by (22) tram to the centre and all the other attractions, we bought a 7 day pass for around £5, which allows access on the buses, trains, trams and the vernacular railway. There are also great restaurants near to the hotel at cheaper prices than the town centre but the food at the hotel restaurant was also very enjoyable and quite reasonable.
The hotel staff couldn't be more pleasant or helpful, there was always a massive choice for breackfast and I couldn't fault the cleanliness of the room.
Be careful when booking trips we took a sightseeing tour with "Best Tours" not value for money at all. The only place we went that the 22 tram didn't go, was the old town square, the guide was rude and the transport old.
However we did book a very good evening boat trip with Gray Travel from the hotel, this was excellent, a professional guide, great food and live entertainment, reasonable drinks prices, excellent service and pick up and drop off at the hotel for around £24 per person.
Other than the usually popular places to see, there is a monastery and beautiful church not far from the hotel (about 5 walk away on the opposite side of the road) with fantastic views, worth a look if you have the time.
I also enjoyed the vernacular railway that takes you upto the tower (looks like a mini Eiffel tower) 299 steps up but worth it for more fantastic views of Prague city.
It was very hot during our stay so the pool was also a welcome oasis in the afternoon to cool down, all in all a great and recommendable stay.
