A Great Find! A review of Simpsons of Potts Point Hotel
Our first visit to Oz to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. After spending the first few days in CBD of Sydney we looked for a different lodging option. Pott's Point was appealing - old tree lined streets, ecelectic mix of people and places. As B&B owners in the U.S. we looked for a clean, confortable and FRIENDLY place and this was it. Keith was GREAT providing the right amount of attention and not being overbearing. The port and sherry in the sitting room was a wonderful touch and one we have added to our establishment. Our room was quiet and comfortable and overall it was hard to believe that we were just a 20+ minute walk to the Botanical Gardens and Circular Cay. Yes we ate one night at Harry's - very good but the highlight of our 2 weeks dining experience was the nearby EURAZ Restaurant - Keith's recommendation and it was great. Our server was a young gentleman from Melbourne and he spent the evening discussing the merits of Melbourne vs. Sydney - and made some great recommendations on the food as well. Nearby towards Kings Cross are plenty of car rental locations as well as numerous other restaurants. Funny but the neighborhood reminded me of the Washington DC area around the National Catherdal/Zoo - looked to be in transition, some rough edges but some very nice diversions as well. Overall Oz was more than we expected and upon our return "sometime" Simpson's will be our place of choice. Oh, one more thing that we brought back from there - the toasted raisin bread topped with ricotta cheese and honey. Wondeful. Location also has internet connection.
