A good hotel... A review of Manhattan Beach Marriott
Stayed here for 6 nights in August, based on reviews in Trip Advisor. Our room comprised two double beds, which was clean and comfortable. It cost $150 pernight. We took the free breakfast package, which I would highly recommend. Eating breakfast was costing us $40-50 a day for a family of four. Parking was an extra $12 per night. Beware of parking locally - we came back from a restaurant one night at about 10.30pm to find about four towing vehicles removing parked cars!
We had a golf course view, overlooking the 9-hole par three course. THe golf is reasonably priced, and the clubs for hire were well known brands. The pool was not large, but adequate for our kids.
We found the location to be excellent. Close to the freeway, and only 5 mins from the beaches by car.
Opposite the hotel is a PF Chang's restaurant, which is fantastic. 5-10 mins walk west is a large mall, which has a good selection of reataurants. We all liked the LA FoodShow - sounds naff, but it served good food and had a good wine list. For our 10 and 13 yr olds, the kid's menu was more than enough. We also enjoyed Il Fornaio restaurant, about 5 mins east.
All staff were very helpful.
We looked at the Portofino Yacht Club at Redondo Beach whilst we were in the area. More expensive than the Marriott, with much smaller rooms.
We would stay at the Marriott again.
