If you're (a) looking for a good deal, (b) don't want to pay the L.A. hotel prices, and (c) want a location that's midway to L.A., Newport Beach & Anaheim -- then this is the hotel for you. It's also one of the nicest and well run Hiltons. It sure beats my stay at the Hilton Towers in San Francisco a week earlier. Although the Long Beach hotel was a bit hard to find at first, it was easy the second time around.Got a $99/night special rate at Hilton's website for a three night stay on its executive floor, with breakfast buffet & exercise room, newspaper, and daily bottled water included. Room was immaculate with custom linens, bed was very comfortable and had a high padded headboard. Bathroom was huge and spotless, with granite counters, and the amenities were good and plentiful (i.e. bathrobes, coffee maker, soaps, lotions, sewing kit, etc.) The view from the room was quite nice with the harbor and the Queen Mary docked in the far distance. Checked in at midnight. Despite the time, the front desk staff quite welcoming. Self parking was extremely convenient ($9/day), with elevators that lead up just outside the hotel lobby. The only negatives were the isolated location and an exercise room that needed some equipment updating. In total, it was a really pleasant and a very memorable stay. I definitely go back again.
