A gem of a hotel - great value for money!! A review of Hotel Seifert
we booked the the flights through bmi baby and the hotel through easyjet hotels. 3 nights b&b cost less than £125 per person all in!
once we got to prague airport we bought a weeks travel pass, which once activated gives you unlimited travel on buses, trams and the metro. all this for less than £7! (london, hang your head in shame...)
from here we got bus no.100 to take us to Zlicín station and the beginning of line B of the metro.
this will take you straight to Florenc without having to change. once up on the pavement cross the road to the bus-stop and wait for bus no.133. after a 5 min ride, this will take you to just across the road from the hotel. (the stop needed is just after a sex-shop!)
remember bus 133, it will become your best friend for nipping back and forth to the centre. it can get very crowded for the trip between the hotel and Florenc station, but the metro is where all the locals get off and the bus empties letting you sit the rest of the way into the centre. when going into the centre, stay on the bus till the very last stop, Staromestská. head away from the river and it's just a short walk to the old town square.
although the hotel is in a slightly run-down area, it didn't feel threatening in the surrounding streets and was quite safe. (probably more so than cities in the uk)
once inside the hotel you wonder how you got this quality for the price you paid. it is lovely!
the rooms are comfortable and have everything you could need, after all it's the city you've come to see - not the hotel!
24hr reception with free internet access and english speaking staff who will go out their way to help you in any way they can.
if you want a nice, clean, in-expensive place to stop in prague, which is only 15mins from the centre by bus. then look no further than the Seifert.
it does exactly what it says on the tin...
