A friendly mountain resort with the basic amenities A review of Lake Arrowhead Resort
I was at Lake Arrowhead Resort over 4th of July weekend, 2004.
The resort is nice enough - kind of rustic in that mountain resort kind of way. The staff was very friendly. But I was not at all impressed with the food. Also, the bed gave me a backache. I read on another site that the Resort puts a board between the mattress and the box-spring, which make the beds very hard, but that you can remove the board.
Nevertheless, the location is great - right on the lake. Although I didn't partake, I was quite intrigued by the s'mores on the beach on weekend evenings - for a mere $2! The resort is also just steps from Lake Arrowhead Village, which is a nice place to get a snack, shop at the outlet stores, or check out live music during the summer evenings. There's also plenty of activities on the lake, like boating and water-skiing. The Resort's pool and jacuzzis were nice, too.
I did not check out the Resort's Spa, but they did offer the full range of spa services.
In spite of the devasting fires on the mountain less than a year ago, I was impressed that the scenerey remains lovely.
