A Four Points Sheraton , is it really ?? A review of Crowne Plaza Newark Airport
First the hotel is very difficult to find. When I walked into the hotel the desk person was talking to a customer on the phone. He was very rude and hung up on the person. The person was inquiring about the room rate. I ask him was he all right and I must say he was very polite to me. But the first impression and how you treat any customer is important. The outside of the hotel was not what I would expect from a Sheraton, the parking lot and entrance needed cleaning. The rugs in the hotel could do with some cleaning and hallways had debris. Some of the elevator walls had screw holes in them. In the bathroom, the water drained very very slow. There was mildew around the bottom of the tile and the grout need cleaning in the tub and floor. I had to move the bed to get sometime and you could tell it had not been cleaned in sometimes. Carpet in general needed a good vacuum and cleaning. My husband had breakfast; there is a breakfast buffet, limited selection. He paid $13 which included tip. We found a diner on Dowd ST. (Skyline), which was really good and we ate for $13 for the both of us and this included the tip (breakfast). This hotel was not what you would think a Sheraton would be. We will not stay there again; we were there 4 days. It was close to NYC, which was good for my daughter's move in to NYU. Our stay was from 8/28 - 9/1/04. By the way I am a Sheraton Starwood's Owner.
