A bit perplexed A review of Regency Lodge
I stayed at this hotel one night with my family. I had read the reviews here and they were glowing. While I can't say the hotel was "disappointing" (I am always cautiously skeptical), my experience was not as rewarding as I had hoped.
The room I had would be nearly identical to any room that you find at Holiday Inn Express. Nothing would indicate it was a "lodge" except for a few wall decorations.
The indoor pool was not heated and rather cool, and the lighting not satisfactory. The "jacuzzi" was not functioning, even after a maintenance man came to repair it. The motor was incredibly small, and we seemed to know more about its operation than the maintenance staff.
The lounge adjacent to the lobby was nice, but smoke filtered across the lounge into the waiting area...not pleasant for those non-smokers (like me).
A continental breakfast is offered, but the size of the dining area could not accommodate the number of guests. The two girls attending it were overwhelmed, as they quickly ran out of whatever was put before the ravenous crowd.
The location was accessible to I-680, and the front desk staff was helpful. I just thought the "lodge" notion was a bit oversold.
