So yeah, I made it safe and sound to Kota Kinabalu. The flight was fine, and after waiting for about 15 minutes or so, I took the 1 Ringit (30cents) bus to town. I never thought i would say it, but i am glad to be back at the hostel in KK. The homestay. Where do i start???? Well, they eat a lot of fruit and speak almost no english. There is no toilet paper and holes in the roof. Oh yeah, and it rains a lot. They tap rubber and sell fruit. Dogs bite people. People eat dogs. And they eat fish for breakfast...

We finally arrived at Kota Kinabalu, capital of Sabah, the north eastern corner of Malaysian Borneo. It is fair to say no one would call this a pretty city, (buildings are at best pretty ******) but first thoughts on the people we met could not have been more positive. Landed at 6:30pm after 1hr delay! Was feeling ****** so pretty much ate then went to bed! Then after organising trips around borneo, I kicked Doug's **** at scrabble and can everyone get back to me on whether 'tapis' is a word in the english dictionary and what it means? That would be super!!

Get back to hotel, pack and go to a hostel for my last night in KK. In the evening head back to the square with the pubs to meet up with a couple of people from the trip who are still around due to them doing a dive course. Next morning, pack up and catch a plane back to Kuala Lumpur.

Back in an airplane. I've mostly been writing in my journal. We had mushroom omelets, potatoes, peanuts, and little fried fish for breakfast. I didn't eat anything but watermelon. The potato thing here always gets me. They say they have potatoes and I get all excited but then I get them and remember where I am....
