          Awesome 25th Wedding Anniversary

We had a great vacation. We stayed 7 nights in Cottage #1 in a package that included Breakfast. The food was fabulous. The drama of the cliffs catch you immediately upon arrival. The most desirable cliffside cottages are cottage #1 and #3. #1 is slightly more isolated. The unit had a kitchenette on the main floor and an upstairs kingsize bed. We brought our own CD player and would recommend it to others. No microwave, blender or coffee maker provided. A small frig with a small freezer is provided. The outside shower is great and located in a natural garden on the side of the unit. It only has one temp of water, no hot/cold adjustments. The inside bath has a great shower with both Hot and Cold water. We visited Tensing Pen, Rockhouse and Samsara. All are very nice properties, some nicer than others. Each have their strengths but dollar for dollar, Xtabi comes out on top. The staff was outstanding and you became friends with them during the week. The food at Xtabi was delicious. The lunch - Chicken salad was fantastic. Breakfasts were great. We visited outside Lobster season and missed eating fresh lobster. A closeby walk south ~1/4 mile down to "Choices" provided a great meal on 2 evenings. Samsara welcomes visitors and had a great evening buffet. Buffet w/dessert and drink from the bar $13US each. Happy Hour at Samsara was very reasonable with 2 for 1 drink prices the best we saw all week.

The 7 mile Beach was pretty, but nothing to compare to the no hassle experience on the cliffs. Snorkeling was great. Beautiful underwater scenery. If you need any info please email at dgbryant@mindspring.com.

          What a wonderfull place!

I have stayed at Xtabi several times and love it! I am planning on getting married there this January (2005) I can't wait to go back!!!

          Beautiful, relaxing, private

We have been to Xtabi a few times now. We don't like a heavily "tourist populated" spot, xtabi is perfect--all the amenities of a larger spot, with all the privacy of a small property. The staff are great, the price is great, and they have one of the better restaurants steps away from your cottage. If you enjoy privacy and experiencing the culture, this is the ideal spot for you!

          Always TERRIFIC!

Home again from another Negril trip..... It just doesn't get any better...... I have been to Xtabi several times a year for the past 4 years and who could ask for anything any better! I love to snorkel and they are the best! Easy access to the crystal clear water and platforms for sunning! The restaurant is great and the staff is terrific! Cherry gives the ultimate massage inside the caves while Joe can take care of any of your needs....They girls at the desk are great and all ensure you have a wonderful time. The hotel is run by David Preble and he does a fantastic job! If you go to Xtabi tell them Deb Cox says hello!

          The Best in Negril

I have been to Xtabi twice in the last several years, and loved each moment!. The view was spectacular, and the staff very friendly. Xtabi allows visitors to enjoy all of the best that Jamiaca has to offer with the gardens, cliffs, caves and the ocean all in one place. I consider it my home in the W.I. and will be retuning again soon!

          Home away from home

I've been to Negril two years in a row and I'm heading back down again near the end of March. There aren't enough words to describe how beautiful it is in Jamaica, the people are wounderful and the food is outrageous!!!! All I really know is that every year I come to Xtabi I feel like family, so this is now my home away from home.I will be coming back every year. THANKS CoreyRay

          What a view!

Just returned from a stay at Xtabi Resort in Negril, Jamaica (Nov.21-28). A driver from the resort picked us up promptly upon our arrival. The drive to Negril now takes only about an hour since the new highway is built (used to take 2.5 hours!) & the scenery along the coast is gorgeous. We have been to Negril 3 times...first time stayed at Sandals Negril on the beach side, second time stayed at Tensing Pen on the cliffs (was hooked on the cliff side after this stay). Xtabi has several cottages that are right on the cliffs looking out towards the Carribbean Sea...what a beautiful way to wake up every morning. We stayed in Cottage #1...the largest on the property. Balcony runs all along the octagon shape cottage. Bottom floor is a large open room with small refrigerator, stove/oven, sink, coffee pot...also has a dining table for 6. The one bedroom is upstairs (these stairs are very small & steep) & has a king size bed and small dresser. Of course, no air conditioner, no phone, no TV...but who needs that?? The ceiling fan in the upstairs bedroom keeps you quite cool at night & with the waves crashing on the cliffs, you'll sleep like a baby. After 5 nights, we had to move to Cottage #7 due to other guests booking #1. It is located on the cliff side as well but tucked away behind all of the beautiful vegetation that grows on the property. This was a standard room (meaning no kitchenette) & was very nice too. The resort has a restaurant that serves delicious food. We ate breakfast every morning (came with the special rate) and didn't have to eat lunch because it was so much food. We ate dinner the first night...delicious but pricey.

We ate off of the resort the other nights. Other rooms are located across the street near the pool...some do have air conditioning. The staff is very friendly & accommodating to your requests & needs. I had a massage by a staff person during sunset in the caves located under the resort...ahhh..what a feeling! This is one of the best resorts to see a sunset as you have an unobstructed view...just water as far as you can see. We snorkled every day from the resort... jumped off of the cliffs...and just hung out. Like they say...No problem, Mon! I would highly recommend Xtabi Resort to anyone & we'll be going back there as well.

          Stay here for Negril Experience

Me and my girl friend have been to Jamaica 4 times in 5 years and have stayed at Rockhouse, Port Antonio (east side of island), and Xtabi. We are from the SE US so the beach for us isn't important. Xtabi is on the cliffs in the West End of Negril. Forget the beach, we have beaches in the States. What we don't have is tropical blue water and huts on the cliffs. All three times we have stayed at Xtabi (for a week) we have gone to the beach one day in 6. Request Villa 1 or 3. Both have kitchens. Do not stay in a "room." They are across the street. Also, forget the pool. The ocean is 20 steps below your hut. The food at Xtabi is now the best in Negril thanks to their new chef (try the lobster thermador). Bring your own snorkle gear because you will snorkle every day. Other things to do while in Negril:

Riverwalk - Mayfield Falls - Riverwalk is the name of a company at Mayfield Falls. Rockhouse - three doors up has a great pool. Jungle - disco M&L Market - 200 yards up the road has everything Vincent's Famous Snorkle Boat - look for him passing by. when you see him wave him over. he will take you to the reef for $15 per person for 2 hours snorkling. Tell him you know Larry and Elizabeth.

          Paradise on the cliffs!

My stay at Xtabi was wonderful!!! I have just returned from an eleven day visit to Jamaica. We initally stayed on the beach side of Negril for the first part of our trip, but knew that we also wanted to stay on the cliff side. The great thing about Jamiaca during this time of the year is that you can find an available room. We visited Xtabi one evening for drinks and the view from the cliffs. We inquired about rooms and were shown the garden rooms (across West End Road). Simply breathtaking. We moved there the following day. The rooms are located in the garden near the pool. Each with a balcony facing the garden filled with palm trees, croton trees, banana trees, coconut trees, and various flowering trees. Very clean pleasant room, air-conditioned, fan, queen sized bed. Equally clean bathroom. Safe in closet. No t.v.

(didn't need it) or phone. $45.00 U.S. Very pleasant staff, quiet escape from the beach side. I only ate lunch at the resturant (over looking the cliffs) which was good and reasonable. There are also caves to explore leading down to the sea. Watch out for the bats! I highly recommend staying at this hotel!

          You want a great time?

If you are considering going to Negril, you should consider staying at Xtabi. It is located on the cliffs side of town. There is a great restuarant at the hotel, and music and shopping are not far away. The sunsets are inspiring, and you'll have memories to last a lifetime. Go.

... a couple weeks ago. This place is amazing. California King. Jacuzzi tub, a living room area. It's up to date and great. We go to dinner and get some much needed grub. At the buffet, they only served beer, wine, juices, or coffee/tea. We had some red stripe. Because, really, why not. After we finished our late dinner, the show finished, so we headed to the sports bar for some drinks. Took a shot with ...

... Lucea under a combination of sail and motor, and that was how we travelled for a couple of hours, till the wind increased enough for us to turn off the motors. It was delightful sailing. Once again there were a few flying fish but not much else of note, apart, of course from the rather attractive coastline.
It was mid afternoon by the time we were anchored at the Montego Bay Yacht club. As we put down the anchor, ...
