The Inn treated us well, the ghost stayed away and we woke up raring to go. We are excited. The reason we came to Farmington was to see Frank Lloyd Wright's "Fallingwater", one of his most widely acclaimed works. Fallingwater was designed in 1935 for the family of Pittsburgh department store owner Edgar J. Kaufmann. His family included his wife and son, Edgar Jr.

Our tour time was set for 8:30 and we did not want to be late. Henry our guide was ...

We left Nashville, Tennessee behind us this morning and hoped to arrive at Farmington by this evening. Our car seems to be only a little lighter in our load but we make ourselves comfortable for the journey ahead. It is 16 degrees, bright and sunny. Before the day ended we had reached 24, gorgeous.

... here in Mill Run. The Laurel Highlands were magnificent. We drove about 30 miles to our bed and breakfast on back roads of rolling hills and screaming fall colors. Very different than the sharp, high altitudes of the Blue Ridge. Equally beautiful. Had a fantastic time at a local pub where sportsman (hikers, kayakers, etc) stop after a day in the woods. Good beer, good food, ...

... so beautiful. It was very different from what I had pictured but it exceeded my expectations. It was also exciting to be there since famous people like Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, and rumoured Albert Einstein had stayed there before as well. There are also many original paintings and drawings by Diego Rivera and Pablo Picasso throughout the house. Another great place if you appreciate ...

... rest of the blurred and slurred evening.

The next day nobody was feeling 100% we were supposed to climb but only me and Matt #2 were up for it. We all grabbed breakfast sandwiches at the sweetest coffee shop on the mountain. All of us except Jon who was severely struggling to move that day. Grace, #1 Matt and Adam headed back to the house and me and #2 Matt went to climb a little section in the woods. It was pathetic... we both ...
