A canal, dug from a natural shallow creek,(as seen in the photo) runs from Cape Mays harbor to the Delaware Bay, making Cape May an island. Though it is an island, Cape May is a part of a "cape," a strip of land projecting into a body of water. Settled by whalers and fisherman in colonial times., making Cape May America's oldest seaside resort.

Rain! It rained most of the day today we gave up and decided to bike through it. We had 19 miles to our campground in Rockwood when it started down pouring, the trail sunk and we went from going 11 miles to a high of 9 miles an hour. We finally got to the campground and everything was wet we decided to go to town to check out the hostal and get pizza. The hostal was empty so we are staying here tonight.
