After a stop at the eye doctor's to get Chloe's glasses fixed, we were finally on the road (at about 11:00 a.m.) and headed for our first stop--the Wisconsin Dells. Mom and Dad …

    Great family waterpark/resort!

    Reviewed Jul 10, 2009

We've been to the Wilderness Lodge & Resort 3 times as a family- each time our kids were different ages--from toddlers to teenagers. We've always had a great time and have found it to be a well-run establishment. Unfortunately, the lines can get long sometimes on the bigger water slides, and the place is now so huge, it's easy to get lost moving from one part of the resort to another. But overall, there's plenty to do for all ages, and in the end everyone has a great time.

    I loved the Wilderness Hotel!

    from anonymous

I've gone to the wilderness hotel for about 4 years in a row and I love it! There's tons to do and you don't have to waste money on the other water parks because you have one right at your hotel. It's well kept and has nice rooms. My family and I are going back to the dells this summer and are planing to stay in this hotel. I highly recomend it!

We got our $$ worth and then some!

    from anonymous

Our family of 4 were there for the grand opening of the new waterpark. Awesome!! It met all of our expectations and more! Great family get-a-way!!

Good time, with a few complaints

    from anonymous

My Finance' and I stayed at the Resort. The restaurant stationed there was too expensive, the maid service was slow. It took forever to get clean towels and an ironing board. We requested the ironing board at 7:00am and they finally brought it around 1:30pm. We were returning to the room from being out and about and they were just bringing it then. Our rooms were not cleaned properly either.

    Horrible Customer Service

    from anonymous

This Hotel has HORRIBLE customer service, is too large, and the food is overpriced and gross! Our family stayed in a room that was dirty, had gum stuck to the floor, and the drain was clogged. We had requested a room from what we saw on their website, but the room was nothing like what it was described. The manager explained he would have to change the website. They MISREPRESENTED the room! They also accidently(so they say) overcharged us on the room bill. The hotel is also SO BIG, so if you have little children don't stay here. My toddler tired out from walking down the LONG, LONG, LONG halls to and from the waterpark, restaurant, dry playland to the front desk. STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!

    Loved the Wilderness Resort!!!

    from anonymous

Stayed at teh Wilderness Resort for the 2nd time and absolutely loved it !! Had 3 kids, ages 3, 4, & 9, all of them want to go back! I had a great time also going down the slides.

    Plan to return...

    from anonymous

My family had a wonderful time at the Wilderness. We stayed for 4 nights in a villa. The only complaint I had was my request the second day for a vacuum was never met. (The villa's were supposed to have them). The shuttle service provided from the villa's to the parks was usually very prompt. With 4 children it was a nice alternative to get around the property and not have to worry about traffic in the parking lots. The attentive lifeguards were "priceless". They had effective communication between the guards at the top of the slides and those at the bottom.

    Had a good time

    from anonymous

Overall, we had a great time. We stayed in a cabin, which was expensive but was very nice. The kids had a great time in the water park and loved the indoor playland (dry park). Our only complaint is slow service. We waited for over 1/2 an hour to check in. Also, we called for a replacement for a dysfunctional coffee maker and eventually gave up (bought coffee at the nearby McDonald's). We are going back again during spring break and will stay in a Villa.

    A Great Family Getaway....

    from tracy722

I definately would recommend this resort!!!! My family and I had a GREAT time there! Our room was very clean, the people at the front desk were very friendly, the hotel itself was clean; the waterpark and the 3 level playhouse was a blast!!

    Dissatisfied

    from willowlake

My family of four visited the Wilderness Hotel in August of 2002. Our two nights stay costed $530.00. For that price we received a room that had not been cleaned. We politely pointed this out to the cleaning service, showing them the crumbs left behind by the previous visitors. The cleaning service never returned to clean our room.

I addressed this with the front desk, asking if the room would be cleaned on the second day, they said it would. We returned to our room on the second day of our stay to find the room had never been cleaned. We did not have fresh towels, our garbage was not emptied and the crumbs from the previous visitors were still not cleaned up. We brought this to the manager's attention, politely, several times. 45 minutes later a male service desk employee arrived at our door with a vacuum cleaner to clean up the crumbs. Five hours later, we received a knock at the door with towels for the evening in a garbage bag, this was around 9:00 p.m.

That was the extent of our cleaning service for the two days we stayed there, dispite the costly charge of the room.

I spent most of our second day at the hotel waiting for maid service or attempting resolution with managers and was unable to enjoy the facilities.

In attempting to address this dispute with management, my phone calls were never returned. I was finally offered a $39.00 discount on the room by the Operations Manager.

Because of the manager's unwillingness to address this situation in a timely manor and the way in which the upper management handled the dispute once I brought this to their attention, I will never choose to stay at the Wilderness Hotel in Wisconsin Dells again.

    Disappointed

    from anonymous

Don't go to the Wilderness if you can't afford a cabin. The rooms are worn, tired and smelly -- a poor value for the $. Sure, the kids will like the pools-- they always do. I found the place very depressing.
