Puerto Galera is a relatively small beach town that's located conveniently in between Manila and Boracay (our destination for New Years). It's also well know for some fantastic diving and marine life. I was looking forward to going there because there are seahorses, and I've never seen those before.

... girls were in here alone. This was followed by some of the dancers asking us what drink we wanted and we felt obliged to get one so we shared a cocktail. one of the dancers introduced herself and told us that she was 21 and had a baby that was 4 years old, she was incredibly proud that she had made it to dancer status in the bar. We headed towards home and stopped off at the local Philippino hangout to get some freshly cooked seafood and meat and ...

    Phil me up!

Which brings me to Philo downside #1: Food. Possibly the highlight of a trip to anywhere else in Asia is food. Not so here. Despite the tropical climate, fruits are in short supply. They also eat ...

... back to Mindoro Occidental (West side of the island, east is know as Mindoro Oriental oriental). Sadly the longer option was a lot cheaper so this is what we ended up doing. The 2nd ferry was a ro-ro ferry which was the complete opposite to the boat to Sabang (and from White Beach). The upstairs deck was for passengers where there were plastic benches or bunk beds to relax on and watch filipino tv (which is fantastic! Think banzai meets pop idol meets ...

... the best spot to dive in the Philippines.
So mostly I figured out my favourites in diving. I love to see a lot of small colourful fishes. Mostly I could find them in dive spots with wrecks in 5- 15 meters. For an hour diving you mostly have to pay 1000- 1700 Pesos that are 20- 35 Euros. Well its sounds expansive but if you go down to an totally different world you will change your mind quickly. Also my ear problem mostly forced me to breaks.
