... the pier (about a four foot drop!), we decided against it. When we were in Easter Island a week ago, I managed to take a spill while we exploring, and I have pulled a muscle in my calf, so I'm quite gimpy as I move about. I was afraid of doing further damage...I'm a chicken. But we're a long way away from civilization, so we elected to check out the island on our own, as most of the ship's passengers did.

... ocean. He has a good approach—protection through economic incentive. We had dinner at La Veranda again (the specialty restaurant) and enjoyed the new menu. We were going to go to the evening program that was entitled a “Conversation with Jean-Michel Cousteau”, but after that full day of snorkeling and boating, we were too tired.

... br> For the recovery dive, we went to the Pufana dive spot, just in the center of the north pass – Passe Ngarue -. We found treasures like floats from the pearl farms… good for anchoring, several hard hats… good for dressing up as one of the Village People, netting, rope, and shells. After circumnavigating the motu, we all went back to our respective boats with our treasures. Then it was time to snorkel the reef and check out the passes for drift dives if the weather cooperated.
