    ... probably proved the difference. After a snack, we returned to the house. Sam was here, relaxing after a couple of days of busy production work. We decided to cycle down to the beach to catch the last of the sun.The beaches were 'shut' (red-flagged by lifeguards) until midday whilst storm damage was assessed and cleaned up.     I boarded the plan just before 5pm and found my seat. The flight to Sydney only takes roughly an hour and a half and its all along the Australian coastline so it was a nice scenic flight.

    ... Paradise. After and hour of getting lost down side streets because the stupid Navman tried to take us down one way streets, or construction areas had shut down the roads. We decided it best to head home, at which two fire trucks went wizzing by and Navman reported 2 incidents with 10 minute delays. We ended up bypassing as much as we could for now and made our slow journey back to the van.

    ... we jumped on the TX2 back to Surfers Paradise! Had a much needed cold shower, I (Sophie) had a lovely chat with Luisa, our German roomie, and then we headed out to Noodle Box for dinner! Had a wander along the Esplanade, checked out the finished sand sculptures to see who had won the competition!! The winner made an amazing sculpture of Pegasus!! It was pretty impressive!! We had a little walk through the foreshore market before heading home to the Islander! ...
