... a seismograph, and it caused the entire planet to vibrate 1cm
- The waves were up to 30 metres high
- The third and largest wave that hit many of the countries was seen "...ripping apart the cement buildings as if they were made of balsa wood"
I was proud of what the world did to help - the Thai people here tell me that the tourists stayed behind to help rebuild the place, often flouting their visas. There is enormous respect for those people here, and the ...
... place is really empty, as it is gearing up for high-season. Secondly, its couple-heaven, but single person hell here. There are no guest houses, and I am the only lone traveller I have seen here (except the girl from Seattle) so I spend each night alone. Thirdly, its an amazing place, but there isn't much to do here in terms of free-roaming - its too small and too isolated to trek anywhere, and all of the tours are by boat.
This is a perfect holiday spot with ...
... made me appreciate their strength as these animals wander through the forest bulldozing all types of vegetation down creating a trail.
We continued walking for around an hour and through the bushes and trees I could hear the rush of water. We neared the sound and found ourselves along the banks of a river with waterfalls and rapids all around. I sat on a rock and just listened to the water and enjoyed the views of the cliffs with the gorgeous vegetation.

... shore and would have to come back anyway, and going in and out of little coves would be less direct than this trail. They didn't care, and wanted to be out of the bush. This was coming from three people that did not grow up in a climate like my own or went out and got dirty in the wild on their own or as boy scouts, but I decided to stick together with them, as that would be the best at this point. Plus, I wanted to see my point proven right. The rocky shores ...
Krabi, Krabi, Thailand tstiles... to do... How many boyfriends have you had?... You find boyfriend just for fun..." And it continued in this vein for a whole hour and a half. Lots of nervous laughter as you can probably imagine. (Mother, possibly edit this out for Granny?!!) Got to Krabi eventually, experienced some more "Asian time", but it was worth the wait. Thai food is so much better than Malay! Should be seeing Adam and Ed tomorrow!
Krabi, Thailand getyourdongout... said that she didn't have a boyfriend and offered him and us a lift back to our hostel in Krabi town! A free journey! get in! Tom's Harry Potter (Tom: Hide your jealousy better mate! Thai women seem to fancy me only when I am at my most sweaty. Maybe it's an Asian thing...) looks worked! (Rich: They seem like clean shaven men! Or they are too weak at the knees to approach me, haha!) On the journey back the lady was talking to us again, and told us that the kid she was ...
Krabi, Thailand cereal42... were warned not to stay in the city so we took an over night bus that same day to a nearby town called Damnoen Saduak. All this town really has to offer is a floating market where people but all their stuff in boats or along the river and you rent a canoe type boat and go to all the shops. It was pretty cool to see, but the water was pretty disgusting because everyone just dumps everything into it. After the market, we caught a bus back to bangkok where we spent the afternoon ...
Krabi, Thailand jayleenFor almost a couple of weeks we went around the islands of southern Thailand, searching for that elusive piece of paradise which we heard can be found around here. The reality as usual is quite different from our hopes and dreams. These islands may have been paradises at some point in the past but that time has gone and passed. Phuket is probably the most famous one of these: at the time of the tsunami, actors and supermodels narrowly escaped disaster and all of a ...
Ko Phi Phi Don, Thailand aguas... to enjoy the beach and once for some lunch. I even tried snorkeling for the first time. That was cool!! It was scary at first, but once I calmed down and breathed normal it was good.

I had lunch at McDonalds while waiting for the airport bus. After a short wait at the airport, I was off to Bangkok.
