      Last day on the slopes

... with capacity 200, resident 6. It did have the most grumpy bar staff in the world, and it did take another 10 minutes to actually get served, but operation beer was eventually a success. The lovely lads from the Coronas evidently were likeminded and joined us. Real good craic, pass the parcel with jokes; everyone got a turn, kind of open mic with stories instead of music.

Dinner in the hotel was great. I jumped in the pool. Garry ushered me into the ...

... than infectious, it makes you feel great. What a hero. I found this all very tiring. Hugh reminded me that I have lucozade tablets, they were necessary, I was crashing. Perked up I let out a sigh “get on with it, what do you think you are on a holiday or something?” Hannis prompted.

Snowboarding day 4 - jumps in the park

Much as the majority of my snowboarding career has been either learning how to not fall over or how to fall better; now I can see that as a freestyler: I am gaining new abilities to hurt myself and would ...

      Snowboarding day 3

A travel blog entry by don.vince on Jan 27, 2015

... I think you are going to like it, it goes like this…" oh man, it was all difficult, and so much fun. “Listen guys, you are freestylers now, this is where it starts getting fun, you can’t just do the turns anymore”. My thighs are going to hurt tomorrow. These jumps and tricks completely transform how I see the mountain. Blue runs: these used to be pain in the ****, trying and failing to keep up with my ski ...

      Snowboarding day 2

A travel blog entry by don.vince on Jan 26, 2015

Having been late the day before I decided to go faster on the morning run across the mountain from Schlossalm to Angertal, I said "see you down there" to Garry, hit the road and didn't see him down there. At some point the signage stopped indicating that Angertal was in my future. Evidently I’d taken a left and should have gone right and was spending beautiful time being the fifth person down this side of the mountain back down ...
