Landing at the airport I quickly found that they only had one ATM and it was out of order and there was nowhere to exchange cash. So rather than getting the bus I was lumped with a taxi.

It was a small bump in what was a chilled five days in the little town of Corralejo in the north of Fuerteventura, one of the Canary Islands. It's a kiteboarding and surfing paradise so not quite my cup of tea but I really enjoyed the laid back vibe ...

The owner Cara and her husband Rory, are friends with my cousin, and Rory has us clapping and cheering all night long with his very entertaining music. We met the coolest taxi driver on the ride home, who complemented my (drunken) Spanish, and told us how the water, electricity and petrol plants are side-by-side, so if one goes... they all do!

Got a good nights rest so waking up at 5:30 wasn't too bad. Not to mention how anxious I was anyway for the day ahead. Got ready super quick and headed down to the bus. It was a very nice charter bus so I snoozed just a little but the ride to town was only about 35 or 40 minutes. When we got into town every sidewalk had people flooding down to the beach. The driver took us as close as he could before getting stuck in traffic. We got off the bus ...
