    ... favourite places (better than Florence they said!) and was a bus ride away. That was the next day sorted then! I have to say Lucca was pretty great. Much quieter than Florence was, but with just as many great places to see and lots cheaper too!! We had a great day exploring the place and would thoroughly recommend it to others! After visiting so many cities, it was definitely beach time! If found a stop in my book which was just below the cinque terre ...

    ... can't be right. Dean went and asked a lady out the front of her house for directions. She spoke absolutely no English but we had some sort of conversation. She said we could turn around In her front yard. So we did. That wasn't the easiest. We managed to turn around but getting out of the drive way was the problem. There was a ditch on one side and a fence on the other. Our Italian friend warned me and helped me put rocks in the ditch to help get around it. ...

    ... that meant poor old Ross spent the next 2 hours doing paperwork with the lady and trying to fix our door - if the door doesn't seal shut we don't go anywhere. But big cheers to Ross and our on board mechanic from Canada who managed to sort it all out. Once we made it to nice (yay for hotel upgrades!!) we went out for dinner where the whole restaurant was booked for us. Had a yummy 3 course meal and then went to a bar ...

    ... and a big catchup chat. Then off to Sanremo. More breathtaking views along the way. Sanremo itself is very very average ..... a bit outdated and tired looking with pretty much nothing to see. Hotel was a bit of a giggle, not what we have become accustomed to but it will do. Went for a very very very very long walk into the town for some dinner. All enjoyed more Italian pizza, pasta and Vino. Then more walking and talking with a few drink stops along the way :) then home to ...
