      ... by someone that I was genuine about wanting cheap transport I was guided directly to the right vehicle (an electric buggy essentially) at the regular cost of 30cents to my first choice of accommodation (hoping of course that they are not fully booked). In other countries, if they realise you genuinely want something cheap, they ignore you and let you try and find it yourself (they even try and hide it) - thank you Philippines for being different (so far). Even in the dark ...

      ... I was Filipino.

      After he dropped me off at the ferry, I got the boat ticket and paid the terminal fees. In the Philippines, terminal fees are charged to just get money out of money for no real reason. Ridiculous I thought, but I couldn't fight against the fee.

      After my boat ride, I took the bus to the airport. Then after my flight, I took taxi to return to Stephanie's house.

      The intention when we left Manila was to stay 3 days and 2 nights. We chose to fly AirPhilExpress as time was an issue and we couldn't get the boat on that day. We went to Manila airport to find our flight was canceled, but they 'kindly' put us on the earlier 10.30am flight. Oh but it was 10.20am already. Also, with a 10kg baggage limit and both of ours roughly around 14kg we ran to pay our excess baggage fees. I asked 'is the flight delayed?' They responded, 'don't worry the plane ...

      The flight to Cebu gave us another sky view of the islands of the Southern Philippines, again showing us how remarkably beautiful the islands and reefs look from the sky, and the sheer blueness of the water.       ... kind of red colouring. This special delicacy is a duck embryo, except these ones were perfectly formed little ducklings, complete with tiny, soft feathers. The whole bird is immersed in hot fat to cook it and the diner will eat the entire bird: head, body and legs. It looked obscene to me.
