Foreigners living in Thailand and the masses from Bangkok make day trips or a short weekend making use of the many cheap accommodations available.
The result a traffic jam that can easily compete with Bangkok, overflown restaurants one can not get a seat, no parking anywhere and herds of people.
This is fuelled by the non stop building boom that is ongoing.

... There will soon be 3 to a room. New arrivals are Chris and Daniel from oz, Herman a Swedish lad, Brendon from the U.S and two Japanese guys. Another Simon too - a welsh chap. There may be one or two more but can't think atm. Anyway I am getting fitter. Really pleased I've done this and I'm proud of my efforts so far.
