Leaving San Francisco For Big Sur

... it is a small one, so small I couldn't find it. All I saw was seals sitting on rocks barking to other seals that my rock is bigger than your rock, and fat seagulls waddling after garbage trucks trying to get airborne to chase the tender waste. Rather than face another abandoned clam chowder bread bowl we rented push bikes and cycled 17 miles to Carmel. Clint Eastwood was Mayor of Carmel once upon his career. But that still didn't impress me as much as ...

As we used a flamed tortilla chip to light the stove gas, we then realised that the stove was also having issues. So I had to keep the fire going for a while longer whilst Ben worked hard to get the stove started. eventually we were successful and food was in the pan being warmed through. After all this was done, we ...

We found a few gifts and smelled some very expensive and tasty food wafting out of restaurants before hopping in the car for the short drive to Monterey. The only place we actually saw there was Cannery Row, which was a bit more touristy than I'd envisioned and had ...

There is so much to see as you travel up and down the coastline. We were very lucky to have time to drive up and down the coastline and take in the view from several of the pull outs. We were so fortunate to have some nice weather and so we were able to enjoy the scenery to entire time we were there.

... sleep too much!) but then when I checked out in the morning and said I was going to Alcatraz for a few hours and if I could leave luggage they then had the audacity to charge even morrrrre money! And wouldn't let me use any facilities for the rest of the day. Not impressed but not much choice! Anyway... Went and collected my belongings from Gay Goliath, who seemed to have an later ego as his other job involved him in quite a fancy area in the financial District, then escaped ...
