As we continued down the coast we stopped at many different viewpoints to admire the coastal landscapes and the sun glistening in the calm ocean. We sat on a rock at the top of a cliff and had lunch whilst looking over the breathtaking scenery. Not bad at all.

On a typical road trip style, we stopped to use a nasty looking bathroom and bought donuts and coffee.
Last stop was Monterey and we will spend the night at the Super 8 - typical American motel, very simple but nice and will serve its purpose very well. Need to rest and tomorrow we will set off to Yosemite.

While driving just past Watsonville, there were acres and acres of berry farms, with Mexicans working in the fields. The smell of strawberries at one stage was delicious! We of course had the roof down on the car so the smell was intense.
