Viva las vegas
Well, what can we say about Vegas? An assault on the senses? Over the top? THE place to gamble (if you know how)? The place to be entertained 24 hours a day? Yes, it's all of these things. It's hot, it's crowded, it's full of life and hen parties, it's theatrical, it's taxis, stretched limos and huge hummers, its themed hotels, shops, shops and …

Las Vegas: The Diamond in the Rough
Friday 9/7/12:
The drive to Las Vegas was just over 4 hours from Bakersfield. The highways were very busy with lots of tourists heading to the iconic gambling strip. The heat hovered around 40 degrees for the entire journey to Vegas. Not far out of Bakersfield for miles and miles in the desert were wind powered propellers littering the …

As reviewed as Trip Advisor:
The suite at The Venetian, with its split level bedroom and lounge was perfect for my first time stay on The Strip. Great size, very comfortable, luxury fitout and a great view across to The Mirage.
The service was efficient - some may think a little distant, but given the size of the hotel that was fine with me.
My only regret was not having enough time relaxing in the suite - was too busy making the most of Vegas!
Stayed April 2013, traveled solo

I've been to Venice before and this hotel made me feel like I was back in Venice. The Winter in Venice is fantastic too.

This was a first trip together for myself and a new beau and of course we each were looking for something romantic that would impress the other. Our beautifully appointed room at the Venetian was the perfect venue! As is often the case though, the prices on the Strip were outrageous. :P

Historical Traveler Reviews Venetian Resort Hotel Casino Las Vegas
Excellent hotel
My husband and I stayed in the Veteitan in August 2002. We arrived at the hotel at about 5pm after our flight and they had not got any non smoking basic priced suites left. So we were upgraded to a luxury suite on the 35th floor with excellent views of both sides of the strip. The room had two bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom with jacuzi and a steam room shower. We had a huge living room and dining area, 4 toilets and our own sauna. It was the most amazing hotel room I have ever (and probably ever will ) stayed in.The whole hotel complex was beautiful, the casino friendly and the canal shop area was well themed and tasteful. I have always wanted to stay in this hotel and it completely exceeded my expectations. I would recommend it to anyone.
Overpriced and Poor Service
I have stayed at the Venetian several times for conventions. I have also been a guest of the Casino. The Venetian is over priced and overhyped. Luckily I've gotten great deals there as I dropped way more in gambling. The service in the hotel is horrible. First of all I check in at the VIP counter. This is great as there is always huge lines at the regular counter. However, the staff at the VIP act like they have a grade 6 education. They always screw something up and seem to be displeased that I'm even there. THe only place where you'll get any service is at the center bar. The senoir bartenders remember you after a few years and are pleasant. Thats where it stops however as the rest of the place from the clerks to the Pit Bosses are total jerks. The hotel isnt that nice either. I've been comped in their suites and while they are huge they are not comparable to nice hotels around the world. The worst part about this hotel is the filth. I've not checked in once without finding hair of some kind stuck in various places in the bathroom. Everytime I have to call the maid up to reclean and everytime she leaves with hair still in the sink and toilet paper balls on the floor. ITs disgusting. No one wants to work in this hotel but they sure want to be given money. Now that I dont have to stay there for conventions any longer I wont set foot in the place. Its a hellhole dressup as a 5 star but a 5 star it is not. Do not stay here for over $150/night. You are wasting your money. ALso eveytime I stayed there I had to contend with unauthorized charges on my credit card. At least $300 is phony charges each time. One time I even taped the doors to the mini bar shut to see if the maid would notice I didnt want to be scammed again. Nope, they charged me that time too for a complete restock of items I didnt even lay eyes on let alone consume. They reversed the charges but what a hassle and dishonesst scam.
Happy birthday from the venetian
Although the Venetian is a beautiful hotel, customer service is nonexistent. After making thousands of dollars in made up, unauthorized charges to our credit card, we were unable to access money. They did reverse the charges but only after we had returned to Houston. My birthday celebration weekend in Vegas was a disaster and the Venetian did nothing to help. What they did was illegal.
Better than The Bellagio
We split our trip in November, 2 nights at The Bellagio (3rd time) & 2 nights at The Venetian. The Bellagio's service level is not as before. Our stay at The Venetian was much more enjoyable - outstanding service; accessability to The Canyon Ranch Spa Club services; & more user friendly than The Bellagio. The Venetian has my business from now on...matter of fact, we've booked ourselves to fly from Hawaii to The Venetian again in March. The Venetian is undoubtedly my first choice for Las Vegas!
Luxurious and great staff.
As a travel agent, I have stayed in many places. This hotel exceeded my expectations. The staff was very friendly. The valet and taxi stand service was great. The restaurants both in the hotel, and in the canal shopping area were 1st class. Live entertainment in the casino bar was fabulous. Drink service while gambling was fast. This is a first class hotel, so expect to pay for 1st class dining. It was well worth it.
If I could be in Love with a hotel...
I have stayed at The Venetian twice. The first time for 3 nights. After the scenic taxi ride from the airport, arriving at this hotel was wonderful. The decor of the taxi pick-up/drop off area alone is enough to awe you. The lobby is phenomenal. Service was incredible. I was worried that I paid too much for my stay ($299 for my first weekend night), but found that it was well worth it. I reserved a king room, but was asked if I wanted to upgrade since a bigger room was available. Of coarse, I jumped on this offer.
The shops (mall), the 14 or so restaurants - the convience can't be beat. You never really have to leave the hotel. I stayed on the 28th floor - gorgeous view, clean room, awesome bathroom and comfortable beds. So comfortable. When I left I knew I would return.
I received promotional coupons in the mail that offered me stays at the rate of $99 per night. This rate is a STEAL! I was there in May 2002 (87 degrees) and plan to go back in 2003. Can't get enough!
Sincerely, 25 year old hotel critic!
Unbelievable
My wife and I stayed here with a great rate for 2 nights. We had heard great things about it and we were not disappointed. The service was excellent-they couldn't get us a high up room but we did get a pool view room. The rooms are all suites-very comfortable beds, a wonderful sitting area-2 TV's, a great marble bathroom with glass enclosed shower and sunken tub.
The canal area is very nice with great Italian music playing and the casino was the cleanest and most smoke-free that we found. We walked through every other hotel on the strip and there is no place I would stay when we go back!!
Wonderful Hotel at a Great Price
In order to take advantage of a great rate, we wound up
splitting our time between the Venetian and Rio Suites. This review is for the Venetian. Do not confuse the two....there is no comparison.
From the moment we drove up to this fantastic hotel, we
were treated with excellent service. The bellmen not only
helped unload our luggage, but also assisted my 81 year old
mom from our minivan and pushed her wheelchair into the
lobby. Upon check-in we were asked if we would prefer two
queen beds rather than the single king suite we had
reserved at the disount price of only $99. The 2 queen suite had been available for $149/night, when we made the
reservation, but we had chosen to go with the less expensive rate. But they upgraded us for free when we checked in!
The staff were pleasant and polite and the dining choices ran the gamut from gourmet to Krispy Kreme.
A first class experience at a first class hotel.
Huge property... Nice rooms... Overpriced...
My boyfriend and I stayed one night at the Venitian, and I was not too impressed. The rooms are nice, but I thought they would be nicer considering the money you pay for their rooms. The property is too big... we couldn't even find the pool.... We've stayed at almost every resort on the strip in Las Vegas, and I think the Venitian is the most overpriced for what you really get, its nice, but overpriced.
Best Hotel on Vegas Strip
Its obvious the the Vegas Strip is full of amazing resorts and casinos, but after staying at the Venetian Hotel, I can honestly say that this is the hotel to stay in while experiencing Las Vegas. The rooms are spacious and luxurious. The casino is beautiful and when walking around, you truly feel that you are in Venice Italy.
