Lucy and Tim's wedding day

Monday, July 21, 2014. The wedding day began as usual with the buffet breakfast, various family tables, and even more of Lucy and Tim's friends, who had arrived over the weekend. I had already cut down on my visits to the buffet, just having a small bespoke omelette made at the 'live station', where one man manages to cook 2 superb unique omelettes and concurrently manage numerous requests for fried and poached eggs. Tim and Lucy wandered through at about ...

... to reach the ground. Surprisingly for my preconception of a Methodist Church the decor included a very large red crucifix on the wall, faded prints of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, a Sacred Heart of Jesus and an Ascension scene. A large roll of green satin was spread across the tables and altar for the whole width of the church, and covered in lace. The minister welcomed us in English, but the service was in Fijian. We bought some, caus we'd rather give our money here where it's ...

When it all came together it was very yummy - yes I ate tuna! Bec gladly finished off my bowl when I'd had my share though :) Afterwards we took a walk along the beach, stopping to talk to some villagers along the way and taking a few happy snaps. It was so nice to just be ...

... saw the outdoor huts they use for cooking on open fire, saw their churches and more. We were then brought to the hall and treated to another welcome ceremony, this time presented by the women of the village. Then it was time for more kava... I can't say I am a fan - but I drink it to be polite. Bec on the other hand is "getting a taste for it", always having more then one bowl at any kava ceremony... After kava, it was time for dancing, led by ...
