So sad to be leaving this beautiful island tomorrow. We had a walk round the lush gardens, and their plant nursery, chatted to the toothless gardener who grows the herbs and aubergines, papayas, onions, greens, beans for the kitchen. Also fantastic ginger lilies and hemerocallis flowers, so beautiful. Walked on ...

Tim and Lucy wandered through at about ...

... Fijian influence, and the massive roasted pig! The evening was rounded off by a Meke Show - traditional singing and dancing. I was called up to dance with a handsome young man, clad only in a grass-skirt, for the final Snake Dance. Sunday morning 20th July Activities on the Outrigger calendar included a beach walk to a local village and the opportunity to attend a village church service. We walked along the peaceful coral beach with about 10 others from ...

... needed then in some kitschy souvenir shop. Now were just crossing our fingers we can get them all through customs. Afterwards, I stayed to finish my book while Becky went to partake in a kava pounding. The one Becky was pounding was about 5 years old, and apparently would take 5 Fijians about 3 minutes to do... However they were stuck with 3 Aussies and 2 Frenchies and so it took about 10 minutes before Lai just took over and got ...
