... and a half as I needed my coffee fix badly. The rivers here, wow, they are emerald green and the water is crystal clear. These are the rivers that feed into the Mekong and as there is little or no industry in the highlands, the water is perfect. The road took me around Nam ngum lake which is man made (by flooding a massive valley) It is pretty spectacular and I got to have a dip at the Blue lagoon section of the river. ... below, so it was not until we got the the bottom and saw perhaps the hundreds of micro limestone mountains jutting up from the landscape that we were able to appreciate fully just how astounding the countryside of Laos is. Fortunately for us the sun was prominent and shone at such an angle as to cast a bluish haze over the limestone mini mounts and creating, for me, the most scenic view of the trip so far. Got up and went for another baguette before hitting the tubes. Tubing was pretty joke. Started the journey off with a few shots and beer pong. With every drink you bought you got a band.
