    An exciting start to our day in Galle in Sri Lanks. We were moored off shore and had to take a tender to the port in a six foot swell!!     ... found a small restaurant with a verandah on the beach and had some lunch. The beach outside of monsoon season is over 100m wide, but each monsoon season, the tides get higher and higher and this is causing damage to the already devastated beach front. See photos.

    ... some old Beetles only. The one in this photos must be based in Unawatuna, I saw it several times. I quite like the badge on the engine lid. I saw an early Beetle for sale at an old car garage on the taxi drive to Colombo. I saw it quickly as we drove past, it had the smaller screen and windows so it would have been 50s or an early 60s model. Didn't see any buses or any other air cooled models.
