    ... long pier at 7:50 am—groan!

    We took a two hour bus ride to the Kohanlich Mayan ruins. We
    passed lots of sugar cane farms and pineapples, lots of low trees and rolling
    hills until we reached the park which was in a very dense rainforest! These
    ruins were only discovered in the 1960’s when someone caught some grave robbers
    trying to make off with one of the large carved stones. Until then, no one ...

    ... the swells were up to 5-8 feet, too dangerous for the ship to approach the dock. So our ship continued to sail on to the next stop. We're actually very glad to have a sea day to rest. I especially did not care much about the ruins particularly in such hot and sticky weather. So Bob and I went back into bed and slept/rested for a couple of hours. I'm coming down with a cold for sure.

    If you wish to stay in the port you still have plenty to do. The port has great shops and restaurants. The Carlos & Charlie's and Senor Frogs share a pool in the port. The pool has bar service so you never have to leave the pool. The pool also has a swim up bar where you can order drinks and food while enjoying the fun.
