Cedar Point, Woodlands Montserrat
... hollow waves from autumn through to
spring (September to March) as the swells are bigger and the waves
are more consistent.
For those new to surfing or if you're
looking to start, the waves are more adapted during summer as the
swells are usually smaller and the waves are thus generally smaller
and more fun.
Basse-Terre (western island) is best
during the cyclone season as it gets south to south east swells.
Grande-Terre ...
St. Barthelemy (or St Barths), a magical little island about 2 hours by boat from St. Maarten. Small houses, narrow streets, beautiful surrounding, baguettes, crystal clear water and great food... although it is quite pricey. As it is a French island, people speak French and it has a French touch. Many people go skinny dipping and most women are topless on the beaches.
The island had a bit ...
... We would sit in a café with our croissants and watch the ferries come and go from Guadeloupe. The shops were quite up market and artsy for a welcome change. It's probably not an island (small group actually) we would suggest that you travel to from the US or Europe, but it was a very pleasant stay for us as it was so unexpected. We hired a moped (petrol included as there are no places to fuel up) and explored the tiny island and its pretty bays. No cars are allowed ...
Saint Martin, Antigua and Barbuda on-oncruisingSt. Maarten Our only stop before crossing the Atlantic Ocean - We were welcomed by beautiful turquoise waters and sandy beaches. Our idea for the day was to walk around in the town - do a little browsing and find a nice place for beach and internet access. There isn ...
St Maarten, Dominican Republic jimstephkrueger... was absolutely breathtaking. Here I was, high above the cliff, overlooking below the blue crystal sea, the sun's rays illuminating the water, the deep blue sky with its candy ball clouds, it was unbelievable. It was another moment in time to be cherished forever. I kept running here and there with excitement in order to capture and memorize everything at once. Again, picture perfect.
Finally, we made our way to Nelson's Dockyard. The ...
Today we arrived in St. John's, Antigua, Antigua and Barbuda. We debarked the ship and walked a bit until we reached what seemed to be some sort of plaza, where a local was balancing a pineapple on her head while grooving to music, hoping to make a few dollars off of us tourists. Later in the day, we took a tour of the island and saw two gorgeous beaches: Dickinson and Runaway.
... 11 am dive - this time Caroline wore her full body suit - protection against any jelly fish and was very pleased. This time Caroline had no trouble with her ears - think partly due to going down the anchor line (which is slanted and felt more gradual) versus the dive line which is straight down. I cleared my ears on each breath out and didn't wait till I felt discomfort. Much better than on Monday when I would feel pain and then ...
St. Johns, Antigua and Barbuda emlymama... an end to it. You can forget about the fabulous white Caribbean Beaches here. However, Montserrat offers a completely different opportunity for the adventuresome traveler in the "safe zone" of the island. Lying just 27 miles southwest of Antigua , a ferry will transport you from Antigua to Montserrat in an hour, or a helicopter can do the same in about 20 minutes. If pressed for time, you can take helicopter tours from Antigua ...
Montserrat, Montserrat contessa... base with both feet firmly on the ground!
We arrived by 4pm, I crashed in my room, looking at my tour photos.
At dinner, again, Winston crash landed my table, with all of his hopes. He's also rambling on and on about Nathalia, who seemingly checked out of the hotel. My stomach still wavy from the sail, I was not in the mood to let him tag along me for a fifth day in a row, this was getting to be annoying. I turned him flat down, for I had catamaran company joining in tonight.
SAINT JOHN ISLAND
< br>
We are at St. John and it is 07.00 am. It is the most "Virgin" out of all the other Virgin Islands .
Our sailing ship stops in the Ocean, and another one comes to take us to the shore. We get in line and we step in the smaller one which carries us out ...
